Arc Fault Circuit Interrupters (AFCI) Installation in Calgary

The proliferation of Arc Fault Circuit Interrupters has meant that some existing panels’ space capacity is reduced when new circuits need to be added. This means you may need to install a physically larger panel to accommodate extra circuits. Many older Canadian homes have ‘double tap’ circuit breakers where circuits have been added but onto existing breakers which is a particularly bad practice and obviously a dangerous condition. Home Inspection service providers normally observe this while carrying out their work and notify prospective homeowners, and realtors, to alert them of the potential problem prior to sale of a home.
